Do you wanna build a book club?

Are you someone who has felt too queer for church, too spiritual for the LGBTQ+ community, or like you didn’t fit neatly into any box?

Me too. I see you.

And that’s exactly why I want to build a space for us—together.

A book club that isn’t just about reading—it’s about belonging.

For too long, stories about faith and spirituality have ignored queer people. And stories about queerness have often left out those of us who still crave spiritual connection. But what if we had a space where we didn’t have to choose? A place where we could read, question, and grow—without worrying about whether we belonged there?

That’s what this (still theoretical) book club is about.

Why This? Why Now?

I’ve spent my whole life questioning, searching, reading, and rewriting my own narrative.

As a kid growing up in a United Methodist household, I was fascinated by my red-letter Bible. My little brain couldn’t stop asking questions—Why were these words in red? Who decided this? What did they mean?

That search for answers never stopped. It led me to study translation, history, and theology, and by my 20s, I was buying a Jewish Publication Society Tanakh, obsessed with how much care and scholarship went into its translation.

Then, in my 30s, after a year of unimaginable loss, I made a life-changing decision: I began my conversion to Judaism. It wasn’t about leaving behind what I knew—it was about expanding my understanding of who I was.

And now, in my 40s? I’m throwing everything I’ve learned into my cauldron—stirring it up with moonwater, magic, and a whole lot of queer joy.

That’s why I write the stories I do. That’s why my books are filled with queer love stories, second chances, and faith journeys that refuse to fit inside neat little boxes.

And that’s why this book club matters.

A Book Club for the Rest of Us.

This isn’t just about reading. It’s about creating a space where we can:

  • Read books that reflect our lives—queer, spiritual, complex, and real.

  • Have deep conversations about love, identity, and second chances.

  • Reclaim our stories—on our terms.

But I don’t want to build this alone—I want your voice in this.

What would make this book club feel like home for you?

Drop a comment or send me an email and tell me:

  • What kind of books should we read?

  • Should we do live discussions? A private chat?

  • Would you want guest authors, Q&As, or something else?

So… do you wanna build a book club? Let’s do this together. Sign up for updates and help shape what’s next!
