Hate cannot drive out hate

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate:
only love can do that.”

—Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, my hearts! Today is the only federal holiday also designated a National Day of Service. I hope you’ll share with me how you use your day. For several years, I’ve put the dogs on a leash and gloves on my hands to pick up trash. It’s a small thing; I hope it counts.

Last year, New York Times bestselling author Mandy Hale posted "May the MLK quote you post today align with the words & actions you choose over the next 364 days." (With a Leap Day added on for good measure in 2024!) Amen.
