Trope trees

'Tis the season for trope trees! If you’ve been on Instagram lately, you’ve probably seen the latest trend where authors turn their stories into festive trope-filled trees. Naturally, I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. I’ve created trope trees for two of my favorite books—Holland, My Heart and When Ivy Met Adam—and I’m so excited to share them with you!

For Holland, My Heart, the tropes on the tree include…
🎄 Billionaire romance
🎄 Slow burn
🎄 He falls first
🎄 Young widow
🎄 Age gap

These tropes perfectly capture Holland’s journey from heartbreak to hope, as she navigates love, loss, and an unexpected connection with Kai Ipu, a charming Black-Samoan CEO who’s determined to help her find her purpose—and maybe even herself.

For When Ivy Met Adam, the tropes on the tree are…
🎄 Twisty love triangle
🎄 Trapped in paradise
🎄 LGBTQ+
🎄 Second chance

Ivy’s story is full of tension and tangled emotions as she’s caught between her past and present, discovering truths about love, identity, and what it means to start over in the most unexpected of circumstances.

These trope trees are not just holiday decorations—they’re little teasers for everything readers love about these stories. Want to see how they look? Head over to my Instagram (you’re following me there already, right?) to check out these trees in all their festive glory. While you’re there, don’t forget to let me know which tropes you love most—or what you’d want to see on your dream trope tree.

Whether you’re team Holland or team Ivy, head to Instagram and let me know which tropes you’re adding to your holiday reading list! 🌟
