QOTW: Robert Louis Stevenson
Well said.
“I kept always two books in my pocket,
one to read, one to write in.”
Quote of the Week
Robert Louis Stevenson was a Sottish novelist, poet and travel writer, most noted for writing Treasure Island and Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
I love his idea of carrying a notebook everywhere. It’s something I think I probably have done at times, but I also know I’m not doing this now.
In fact, my therapist (pray for her, my hearts, she has a tough job!) called me out on it. She could tell that I’ve hit a writing wall. She suggested I journal until I get inspired to jump back into writing. Easier said than done!
I’ve looked through dozens of pages of journal prompts and very few inspire me (actually this one is very cool). I guess I could fall back on the traditional “List three things you’re grateful for” that has served me in the past.
If you are a person who keeps a journal, what are some effective prompts you’ve used?
