QOTW: Nnedi Okorafor

The Quote of the Week

Well said.

“I love the sound of the pages flicking against my fingers. Print against fingerprints. Books make people quiet, yet they are so loud.”

―Nnedi Okorafor

Nnedi Okorafor is an award-winning New York Times Bestselling writer of science fiction and fantasy for both children and adults. The more specific terms for her works are africanfuturism and africanjujuism. I have yet to read any of her books—but after visiting the Afrofuturism exhibit at The National Museum of African American History and Culture in DC, I am in my afrofuturism era. So, I just added the Binti trilogy to my shopping list.

On a completely irreverant note… Funny that before I read this quote, I saw a meme that said something similar though far less eloquent.

Truth comes in disparate packages! 📚
