International Women’s Day

March 8 is International Women’s Day, which means it’s time to celebrate, agitate, and remind the world that women aren’t going anywhere. If you’re reading this, you already know: progress doesn’t happen by waiting patiently or asking nicely. It happens when we march, shout, demand better, and refuse to be ignored.

So let’s do just that.

Where’s the party? (Spoiler: It’s in the streets.)

Want to make your voice heard? Good news—you don’t have to organize a full-scale rebellion yourself (though if you do, I fully support you). There are marches happening all over the country, and one of them needs your beautiful, rebellious self front and center.

Whether it’s a massive rally, a local gathering, or an online event, showing up is the first step. Because when we march together, we make it impossible for the world to look away.

Why March? (As If You Need a Reason)

  • Because our rights are still under attack. Reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ protections, equal pay—none of it is guaranteed unless we keep fighting.

  • Because history proves this works. Women’s voices have toppled governments, changed laws, and reshaped society. We are powerful as hell, and they know it.

  • Because the next generation is watching. Whether it’s your kids, your nieces, or that young person who sees you standing up and realizes they can, too.

  • Because smashing the patriarchy looks great on you. Really, it does. You glow different when you’re taking up space.

How to Be a Marching Badass

  • Pick your march. Use this guide. Send the link to your friends. Drag your book club. The more, the mightier.

  • Come prepared. Wear comfy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a sign that makes a statement (bonus points for literary quotes that eviscerate the patriarchy).

  • Use your voice. Chant, post on social, share resources, and remind everyone that International Women’s Day isn’t just about celebrating—it’s about pushing forward.

  • Keep the fire alive. Marching is a start. Supporting women’s rights, queer liberation, and marginalized voices all year long? That’s the real power move.

At its core, romance is about agency, desire, and reclaiming the narratives we’ve been told aren’t ours to have. It’s about women choosing love, choosing themselves, and writing their own damn happily-ever-afters. And that’s exactly what International Women’s Day is about, too.

So, will I see you out there? 📢 Drop your city in the comments and let’s show up together.
