I love dogs.

As the temperature drops and holiday lights start to twinkle, one thing is crystal clear: I adore dogs. Big, small, scruffy, sleek—it doesn’t matter. Dogs are pure-hearted, tail-wagging joy. That’s why I feel so strongly about keeping them safe and warm this time of year. If you’re shivering in your boots and coat, imagine how cold your pup must feel with their paws on the icy ground! Even the fluffiest fur isn’t enough to protect them from the chill of winter.

This season, please don’t leave your furry friends outside for too long. Bring them indoors, invest in cozy dog beds, and maybe even a doggie sweater for walks. They’ll repay your kindness with endless snuggles and that special doggy grin.

Dogs hold a special place in my heart—and in my stories, too. In When Ivy Met Adam (affiliate link!), Ivy captures exactly how I feel:

“My dog-free status is a much bigger problem than my partner-free status, if you ask me.”

Ivy gets it. Dogs are more than companions; they’re family. Writing her story gave me the chance to channel my deep love for our four-legged friends into a character who’s as dog-obsessed as I am.

If you’re looking for a cozy, heartfelt read this winter, check out When Ivy Met Adam. It’s a queer, modern twist on the story of Eve, filled with laughs, love, and plenty of moments that’ll warm your heart (and remind you why dogs really are the best).

So, grab a blanket, your favorite pup, and dive into Ivy’s world. And while you’re at it, give your dog an extra belly rub—from me. Stay warm, friends!
