Election Day

Today is Election Day in the United States, and if you haven’t already, I hope you’ll take a moment to vote. I did, and I know how easy it is to feel like just one voice in the crowd. But today, every single vote is part of something bigger. So, if you can, please make the effort to head to the polls or drop off your ballot—it’s worth it.

I tried to make this post about voting for the Indieverse Awards, but I just couldn’t stomach it.

There’s a lot at stake, and everyone’s feeling the pressure. But let’s remember, we’re all neighbors in this. However the results unfold, being kind to each other is something we can all commit to. We might not always agree on everything, but respect and empathy go a long way. After all, kindness isn’t just something we owe to others—it’s a gift to ourselves, a way to stay grounded through the ups and downs of it all.

If today has you feeling anxious or overwhelmed, know that you’re not alone. Take some deep breaths, step outside if you can, or even settle in with a good book or a warm cup of tea. There’s no rule that says you can’t pause for self-care in the middle of a big day.

So, here’s my Election Day wish for all of us: Let’s make our voices heard, treat each other with grace, and remember that we’re all in this together. Whether you’re a first-time voter or have been voting for decades, thank you for showing up.

Here’s to a peaceful, meaningful day—may we all get through it with kindness and hope for the future.
